महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-173, verse-14

एवं विक्रोशमानायास्तस्याः स सुनृशंसकृत् ।
भर्तारं भक्षयामास व्याघ्रो मृगमिवेप्सितम् ॥१४॥
14. evaṁ vikrośamānāyāstasyāḥ sa sunṛśaṁsakṛt ,
bhartāraṁ bhakṣayāmāsa vyāghro mṛgamivepsitam.
14. evam vikrośamānāyāḥ tasyāḥ sa sunṛśaṃsakṛt
bhartāram bhakṣayāmāsa vyāghraḥ mṛgam iva īpsitam
14. While she was wailing thus, that extremely cruel one devoured her husband, just as a tiger devours its desired deer.
