योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-98, verse-17

विना सत्सङ्गमन्येन पोतकेन न तीर्यते ।
आस्तां किं मे विचारेण यद्भवेदस्तु तन्मम ॥ १७ ॥
vinā satsaṅgamanyena potakena na tīryate ,
āstāṃ kiṃ me vicāreṇa yadbhavedastu tanmama 17
17. vinā satsaṅgam anyena potakena na tīryate
āstām kim me vicāreṇa yat bhavet astu tat mama
17. satsaṅgam vinā anyena potakena na tīryate me
vicāreṇa kim āstām yat bhavet tat mama astu
17. Without the association with the virtuous (satsaṅga), this [ocean of saṃsāra] cannot be crossed by any other means or "boat". What is the use of my deliberation? Whatever is destined to happen, let that happen to me.
