When King Bhagīratha was the monarch, then indeed that triple-pathed (Ganges) river, with its glistening, breaking waves and smiling with its clusters of foam, manifested on the earth. It was like a continuous flow of natural law (dharma) adorned with joyful, sacred blossoms, and became a pathway for the spread of his fame.
