नभस्तलान्निपतति गां त्रिमार्गगा महात्मनामिव बहुपुण्यसंततिः ॥ १६ ॥

From that time onwards, the Gaṅgā (trimārgagā), with her pure, breaking waves, always associated with the body of Śiva, the lord of the world, descends from the plane of the sky to the earth, just like the continuous stream of abundant merits belonging to great souls (mahātman).
