योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-2, chapter-15, verse-7

आत्मनात्मनि संतोषं यावद्याति न मानसम् ।
उद्भवन्त्यापदस्तावल्लता इव मनोबिलात् ॥ ७ ॥
ātmanātmani saṃtoṣaṃ yāvadyāti na mānasam ,
udbhavantyāpadastāvallatā iva manobilāt 7
7. ātmanā ātmani santoṣam yāvat yāti na mānasam
udbhavanti āpadaḥ tāvat latāḥ iva manobilāt
7. yāvat mānasam ātmanā ātmani santoṣam na yāti
tāvat āpadaḥ manobilāt latāḥ iva udbhavanti
7. As long as the mind does not achieve contentment (santoṣa) within the self (ātman), misfortunes will arise, just like creepers from a fissure in the mind.
