वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-94, verse-9

ततस्त्वमपि दुर्धर्षस्तस्माद्भावात् सनातनात् ।
रक्षार्थं सर्वभूतानां विष्णुत्वमुपजग्मिवान् ॥९॥
9. tatastvamapi durdharṣastasmādbhāvāt sanātanāt ,
rakṣārthaṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ viṣṇutvamupajagmivān.
9. tataḥ tvam api durgharṣaḥ tasmāt bhāvāt sanātanāt
rakṣārtham sarvabhūtānām viṣṇutvam upajagmivān
9. tataḥ tvam api durgharṣaḥ,

9. Therefore, you, the unassailable one, originating from that eternal state, assumed Viṣṇuhood for the protection of all beings.
