वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-50, verse-10

न चाप्यस्य कपेर्घाते कं चित् पश्याम्यहं गुणम् ।
तेष्वयं पात्यतां दण्डो यैरयं प्रेषितः कपिः ॥१०॥
10. na cāpyasya kaperghāte kaṃ cit paśyāmyahaṃ guṇam ,
teṣvayaṃ pātyatāṃ daṇḍo yairayaṃ preṣitaḥ kapiḥ.
10. na ca api asya kapeḥ ghāte kam cit paśyāmi aham guṇam
teṣu ayam pātyatām daṇḍaḥ yaiḥ ayam preṣitaḥ kapiḥ
10. And I see no merit whatsoever in killing this monkey. Let the punishment be inflicted upon those by whom this monkey was dispatched.
