वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-24, verse-3

विश्वामित्रो ऽब्रवीद्वाक्यं शृणु येन बलोत्तरा ।
वरदानकृतं वीर्यं धारयत्यबला बलम् ॥३॥
3. viśvāmitro'bravīdvākyaṃ śṛṇu yena balottarā ,
varadānakṛtaṃ vīryaṃ dhārayatyabalā balam.

varadānakṛtam vīryam dhārayati abalā balam
3. viśvāmitraḥ vākyam abravīt: śṛṇu! yena abalā balottarā varadānakṛtam vīryam balam dhārayati.
3. Vishwamitra replied: 'Listen! The reason why that woman (abalā) possesses such strength (bala) and valor (vīrya), making her exceedingly mighty, is because it is strength granted by a boon (varadāna).'
