वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-24, verse-16

राज्यभारनियुक्तानामेष धर्मः सनातनः ।
अधर्म्यां जहि काकुत्स्थ धर्मो ह्यस्या न विद्यते ॥१६॥
16. rājyabhāraniyuktānāmeṣa dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ ,
adharmyāṃ jahi kākutstha dharmo hyasyā na vidyate.
16. rājyabhāraniyuktānām eṣaḥ dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ
adharmyām jahi kākutstha dharmaḥ hi asyāḥ na vidyate
16. kākutstha rājyabhāraniyuktānām eṣaḥ sanātanaḥ dharmaḥ [asti].
[tvam] adharmyām jahi,
hi asyāḥ dharmaḥ na vidyate.
16. This is the eternal constitution (dharma) for those entrusted with the affairs of the kingdom. O Kakutstha, slay the unrighteous woman, for indeed, there is no intrinsic nature (dharma) in her.
