प्रश्नाङ्गद्वादशांशर्क्षस्थिते जन्म वदेत् गुरौ ।
अयनं लग्नपूर्वार्धे सौम्यं याम्यं परार्धके ॥५॥

5. praśnāṅgadvādaśāṃśarkṣasthite janma vadet gurau .
ayanaṃ lagnapūrvārdhe saumyaṃ yāmyaṃ parārdhake.

5. When Jupiter (guru) is situated in the twelfth divisional part (dvādaśāṃśa) of the query's ascendant (lagna) sign, one should declare the birth (janma).
