मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-73, verse-3

तृतीये तु गणे देवाः शिवाख्या मुनिसत्तम ।
शिवाः स्वरूपतस्ते तु श्रुताः पापप्रणाशनाः ॥३॥
3. tṛtīye tu gaṇe devāḥ śivākhyā munisattama .
śivāḥ svarūpataste tu śrutāḥ pāpapraṇāśanāḥ.

3. O best of sages, the gods in the third group are named Śivākhyā. Indeed, they are auspicious (śiva) in their very nature and are known as destroyers of sin.
