राजोवाच ।
श्रोतुमिच्छामि चरितं क्षुपस्य सुमहात्मनः ।
यदि तादृङ्मया शक्यं चेष्टितुं तत्करोम्यहम् ॥५॥

śrotumicchāmi caritaṃ kṣupasya sumahātmanaḥ .
yadi tādṛṅmayā śakyaṃ ceṣṭituṃ tatkaromyaham.

The King said: "I wish to hear the story of the very great soul Kṣupa. If it is possible for me to act in such a way, then I shall do it."
