मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-108, verse-3

सूर्याधिकारं वहतो विष्णोरीशस्य वेधसः ।
मनुस्तस्याभवत्पुत्रश्छिन्नसर्वार्थसंशयः ॥३॥
3. sūryādhikāraṃ vahato viṣṇorīśasya vedhasaḥ .
manustasyābhavatputraśchinnasarvārthasaṃśayaḥ.
3. sūryādhikāram vahataḥ viṣṇoḥ īśasya vedhasaḥ
manuḥ tasya abhavat putraḥ chinnasarvārthasaṃśayaḥ
3. Manu, whose doubts concerning all affairs (artha) were completely dispelled, became the son of that Vishnu, the Lord, the Creator (Vedhas), who holds the authority of the Sun (Surya).
