बुभुजुस्ते महीमेतां धर्मे नियतचेतसः ।
स्त्रीभूतस्य तु यो जातस्तस्य राज्ञः पुरूरवाः ॥१७॥

17. bubhujuste mahīmetāṃ dharme niyatacetasaḥ .
strībhūtasya tu yo jātastasya rājñaḥ purūravāḥ.

bubhujuḥ te mahīm etām dharme niyatacetasaḥ
strībhūtasya tu yaḥ jātaḥ tasya rājñaḥ purūravāḥ

Those [sons] ruled this earth, with their minds fixed on natural law (dharma). But Purūravā, the one who was born when that king had become a woman, (did not obtain a great share).
