महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-61, verse-16

दुःशासने यद्रणे संश्रुतं मे तद्वै सर्वं कृतमद्येह वीरौ ।
अद्यैव दास्याम्यपरं द्वितीयं दुर्योधनं यज्ञपशुं विशस्य ।
शिरो मृदित्वा च पदा दुरात्मनः शान्तिं लप्स्ये कौरवाणां समक्षम् ॥१६॥
16. duḥśāsane yadraṇe saṁśrutaṁ me; tadvai sarvaṁ kṛtamadyeha vīrau ,
adyaiva dāsyāmyaparaṁ dvitīyaṁ; duryodhanaṁ yajñapaśuṁ viśasya ,
śiro mṛditvā ca padā durātmanaḥ; śāntiṁ lapsye kauravāṇāṁ samakṣam.
16. duḥśāsane yat raṇe saṃśrutam me tat vai sarvam kṛtam
adya iha vīrau | adya eva dāsyāmi aparam dvitīyam
duryodhanam yajñapaśum viśasya | śiraḥ mṛditvā
ca padā durātmanaḥ śāntim lapsye kauravāṇām samakṣam
16. vīrau adya iha duḥśāsane yat raṇe me saṃśrutam,
tat vai sarvam adya kṛtam adya eva aparam dvitīyam duryodhanam yajñapaśum viśasya,
(tam) dāsyāmi (tataḥ) durātmanaḥ śiraḥ ca padā mṛditvā,
kauravāṇām samakṣam śāntim lapsye
16. O heroes, what I swore regarding Duḥśāsana in battle, all of that has indeed been accomplished here today. Today itself, having slain this other, second Duryodhana, as if he were an animal for a Vedic ritual (yajña), I shall make an offering of him; and having crushed the head of that evil-minded one with my foot, I shall attain peace (śānti) in the presence of the Kauravas.
