धृतराष्ट्र उवाच ।
यथैव पाण्डवाः सर्वे पराक्रान्ता जिगीषवः ।
तथैवाभिसरास्तेषां त्यक्तात्मानो जये धृताः ॥१॥

yathaiva pāṇḍavāḥ sarve parākrāntā jigīṣavaḥ ,
tathaivābhisarāsteṣāṁ tyaktātmāno jaye dhṛtāḥ.
yathaiva pāṇḍavāḥ sarve parākrāntā jigīṣavaḥ ,
tathaivābhisarāsteṣāṁ tyaktātmāno jaye dhṛtāḥ.

Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: Just as all the Pāṇḍavas are mighty and eager for victory, so too their followers, having abandoned their lives (ātman), are determined in their pursuit of victory.
