महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-101, verse-6

विष्णुरुवाच ।
विदितं मे सुराः सर्वं प्रजानां क्षयकारणम् ।
भवतां चापि वक्ष्यामि शृणुध्वं विगतज्वराः ॥६॥
6. viṣṇuruvāca ,
viditaṁ me surāḥ sarvaṁ prajānāṁ kṣayakāraṇam ,
bhavatāṁ cāpi vakṣyāmi śṛṇudhvaṁ vigatajvarāḥ.
6. viṣṇuḥ uvāca viditam me surāḥ sarvam prajānām kṣayakāraṇam
bhavatām ca api vakṣyāmi śṛṇudhvam vigatajvarāḥ
6. Viṣṇu said: 'O gods, the entire cause for the decline of creatures is known to me. I will also tell it to you; listen attentively, casting aside your distress.'
