महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-101, verse-12

तत्रापश्यन्महात्मानं वारुणिं दीप्ततेजसम् ।
उपास्यमानमृषिभिर्देवैरिव पितामहम् ॥१२॥
12. tatrāpaśyanmahātmānaṁ vāruṇiṁ dīptatejasam ,
upāsyamānamṛṣibhirdevairiva pitāmaham.

12. There they saw the great-souled son of Varuṇa, Agastya, who possessed blazing splendor. He was being attended by sages, just as Brahmā (Pitāmaha) is served by the gods.
