महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-21, verse-19

अनुत्पन्नेषु वाक्येषु चोद्यमाना सिसृक्षया ।
किं नु पूर्वं ततो देवी व्याजहार सरस्वती ॥१९॥
19. anutpanneṣu vākyeṣu codyamānā sisṛkṣayā ,
kiṁ nu pūrvaṁ tato devī vyājahāra sarasvatī.

19. Then, impelled by the desire to create even in regard to words yet unproduced, the goddess (devī) Sarasvatī declared: 'What indeed was prior?'
