महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-66, verse-9

श्रुतं हि ते महाबाहो लोमशस्यापि तद्वचः ।
प्राणान्दत्त्वा कपोताय यत्प्राप्तं शिबिना पुरा ॥९॥
9. śrutaṁ hi te mahābāho lomaśasyāpi tadvacaḥ ,
prāṇāndattvā kapotāya yatprāptaṁ śibinā purā.
9. śrutam hi te mahābāho lomaśasya api tat vacaḥ |
prāṇān dattvā kapotāya yat prāptam śibinā purā
9. mahābāho,
lomaśasya api tat vacaḥ te hi śrutam purā śibinā kapotāya prāṇān dattvā yat prāptam
9. O mighty-armed one, you have surely heard that very account from Lomasa: what Śibi attained long ago by giving his own vital breaths (prāṇa) for a pigeon.
