महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-66, verse-11

अन्नं चापि प्रभवति पानीयात्कुरुसत्तम ।
नीरजातेन हि विना न किंचित्संप्रवर्तते ॥११॥
11. annaṁ cāpi prabhavati pānīyātkurusattama ,
nīrajātena hi vinā na kiṁcitsaṁpravartate.
11. annam ca api prabhavati pānīyāt kurusattama
| nīrajātena hi vinā na kiñcit sampravartate

11. And food also originates from water, O best of the Kurus. For truly, without what is produced from water, nothing whatsoever can flourish.
