And whoever, through the mind (manas), desires to attain a divine quality (guṇa) originating from (their own) resolve (saṅkalpa), one should understand that such a person does so through the power of the (individual) self (ātman); for indeed, all divine powers (devatāḥ) reside within the (individual) self (ātman).
