महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-66, verse-17

कण्वं हि पितरं मन्ये पितरं स्वमजानती ।
इति ते कथितं राजन्यथावृत्तं श्रुतं मया ॥१७॥
17. kaṇvaṁ hi pitaraṁ manye pitaraṁ svamajānatī ,
iti te kathitaṁ rājanyathāvṛttaṁ śrutaṁ mayā.
17. kaṇvam hi pitaram manye pitaram svam ajānatī
iti te kathitam rājan yathāvṛttam śrutam mayā
17. Indeed, I consider Kanva my father, as I do not know my own father. O king, this is what happened, recounted to you as I heard it.
