महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-19, verse-5

आकरं सर्वरत्नानामालयं वरुणस्य च ।
नागानामालयं रम्यमुत्तमं सरितां पतिम् ॥५॥
5. ākaraṁ sarvaratnānāmālayaṁ varuṇasya ca ,
nāgānāmālayaṁ ramyamuttamaṁ saritāṁ patim.

nāgānām ālayam ramyam uttamam saritām patim
5. (They saw the ocean as) the source of all jewels, the abode of Varuṇa, and the beautiful, supreme dwelling of the Nāgas (serpent deities), the lord of rivers.
