महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-19, verse-12

ब्रह्मर्षिणा च तपता वर्षाणां शतमत्रिणा ।
अनासादितगाधं च पातालतलमव्ययम् ॥१२॥
12. brahmarṣiṇā ca tapatā varṣāṇāṁ śatamatriṇā ,
anāsāditagādhaṁ ca pātālatalamavyayam.

anāsāditagādham ca pātālatalam avyayam
12. And even the brahmin sage Atri, performing austerities for a hundred years, could not fathom its depths, reaching down to the imperishable realm of Pātāla.
