इति तुष्टेषु देवेषु दानवेषु हतेषु च ।
दामव्यालकटा दीना बभूवुर्भयविह्वलाः ॥ १ ॥

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: When the gods were thus pleased and the Dānavas (demons) were slain, Dāmavyālakaṭa and his followers became miserable, overwhelmed with fear.
