योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-14, verse-1

श्रीराम उवाच ।
आयुः पल्लवकोणाग्रलम्बाम्बुकणभङ्गुरम् ।
उन्मत्तमिव संत्यज्य यात्यकाण्डे शरीरकम् ॥ १ ॥

āyuḥ pallavakoṇāgralambāmbukaṇabhaṅguram ,
unmattamiva saṃtyajya yātyakāṇḍe śarīrakam 1
1. śrī-rāma uvāca āyuḥ pallava-koṇa-agra-lamba-ambu-kaṇa-bhaṅguram
unmattam iva saṃtyajya yāti akāṇḍe śarīrakam
1. Śrī Rāma said: Life (āyuḥ) is as fragile as a drop of water hanging on the tip of a tender leaf. One abandons the body unexpectedly, as if insane.
