वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-4, chapter-5, verse-13

एतत्तु वचनं श्रुत्वा सुग्रीवस्य सुभाषितम् ।
संप्रहृष्टमना हस्तं पीडयामास पाणिना ।
हृद्यं सौहृदमालम्ब्य पर्यष्वजत पीडितम् ॥१३॥
13. etattu vacanaṃ śrutvā sugrīvasya subhāṣitam ,
saṃprahṛṣṭamanā hastaṃ pīḍayāmāsa pāṇinā ,
hṛdyaṃ sauhṛdamālambya paryaṣvajata pīḍitam.

13. Having heard these well-spoken words of Sugrīva, Rāma, with a thoroughly joyful mind, grasped his hand with his own. Sustaining their heartfelt friendship (sauhṛda), he embraced him closely.
