वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-73, verse-7

ज्येष्ठस्य राजता नित्यमुचिता हि कुलस्य नः ।
नैवं भवन्तो मां वक्तुमर्हन्ति कुशला जनाः ॥७॥
7. jyeṣṭhasya rājatā nityamucitā hi kulasya naḥ ,
naivaṃ bhavanto māṃ vaktumarhanti kuśalā janāḥ.
7. jyeṣṭhasya rājatā nityam ucitā hi kulasya naḥ na
evam bhavantaḥ mām vaktum arhanti kuśalāḥ janāḥ
7. naḥ kulasya jyeṣṭhasya rājatā hi nityam ucitā

7. Indeed, kingship is always proper for the eldest of our family. Therefore, O competent people, you should not speak to me like this.
