If the lord of the Ascendant (dehapati) is associated with malefic planets and located in the 8th, 6th, or 12th houses, it deprives one of bodily happiness. Conversely, if the lord of the Ascendant (aṅgeśa) is situated in an angular house (Kendra) or a trinal house (Kona), it always bestows bodily happiness.
