महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-52, verse-11

यदि ह्यत्र प्रमीता वै स्वर्गं गच्छन्ति मानवाः ।
अस्माननिष्ट्वा क्रतुभिर्भागो नो न भविष्यति ॥११॥

11. Indeed, if people who die in this world (atra) attain heaven, then our share (the portion due to us) will not exist if they do not perform Vedic rituals (kratu) for us.
