इत्यन्तरिक्षे शतशृङ्गमूर्ध्नि तपस्विनां शृण्वतां वागुवाच ।
एवंविधं त्वां तच्च नाभूत्तवाद्य देवा हि नूनमनृतं वदन्ति ॥११॥

11. ityantarikṣe śataśṛṅgamūrdhni; tapasvināṁ śṛṇvatāṁ vāguvāca ,
evaṁvidhaṁ tvāṁ tacca nābhūttavādya; devā hi nūnamanṛtaṁ vadanti.

Thus, on the peak of Śataśṛṅga, a voice spoke in the sky while the ascetics listened. (Kunti then lamented): 'Though you are of such a kind, that (promised glory) is not for you today, for the gods certainly speak untruth.'
