महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-4, verse-15

कर्णं दृष्ट्वा महेष्वासं युद्धाय समवस्थितम् ।
क्ष्वेडितास्फोटितरवैः सिंहनादरवैरपि ।
धनुःशब्दैश्च विविधैः कुरवः समपूजयन् ॥१५॥
15. karṇaṁ dṛṣṭvā maheṣvāsaṁ yuddhāya samavasthitam ,
kṣveḍitāsphoṭitaravaiḥ siṁhanādaravairapi ,
dhanuḥśabdaiśca vividhaiḥ kuravaḥ samapūjayan.

15. When they saw Karna, the great archer, prepared for battle, the Kauravas saluted him with challenging roars, the sound of slapping arms, lion-like cries, and various sounds from their bows.
