नारद उवाच ।
अयं लोकः सुपर्णानां पक्षिणां पन्नगाशिनाम् ।
विक्रमे गमने भारे नैषामस्ति परिश्रमः ॥१॥

Nārada spoke: "This is the world of the Suparṇas, the birds who devour serpents. For them, there is no exhaustion in valor, in flight, or in carrying heavy loads."
