महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-25, verse-6

न युज्यते कर्म युष्मासु हीनं सत्त्वं हि वस्तादृशं भीमसेनाः ।
उद्भासते ह्यञ्जनबिन्दुवत्तच्छुक्ले वस्त्रे यद्भवेत्किल्बिषं वः ॥६॥
6. na yujyate karma yuṣmāsu hīnaṁ; sattvaṁ hi vastādṛśaṁ bhīmasenāḥ ,
udbhāsate hyañjanabinduvatta;cchukle vastre yadbhavetkilbiṣaṁ vaḥ.
6. na yujyate karma yuṣmāsu hīnam
sattvam hi vaḥ tādṛśam bhīmasenāḥ
udbhāsate hi añjanabinduvat tat
śukle vastre yat bhavet kilbiṣam vaḥ
6. Bhimasena, a dishonorable action is not fitting for you, for your nature (sattva) is indeed of such a noble kind. Any impurity that might occur to you would shine forth like a spot of lampblack on white cloth.
