From the impact of the thunderbolt (vajra) on Skanda, another person (puruṣa) was born. He was a youth, clad in golden armor, holding a spear (śakti), and adorned with divine earrings. Because he was born from the splitting by the thunderbolt (vajra), he became known as Viśākha.
