स मे बहुमतो राजा जरासंधो महाबलः ।
योऽनेन युद्धं नेयेष दासोऽयमिति संयुगे ॥१॥

sa me bahumato rājā jarāsaṁdho mahābalaḥ ,

Shishupala said: 'That very powerful King Jarasandha, whom I highly esteemed, did not wish to fight this one (Krishna) in battle, considering, "This one is merely a servant."'
