महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-39, verse-1

शिशुपाल उवाच ।
स मे बहुमतो राजा जरासंधो महाबलः ।
योऽनेन युद्धं नेयेष दासोऽयमिति संयुगे ॥१॥
1. śiśupāla uvāca ,
sa me bahumato rājā jarāsaṁdho mahābalaḥ ,
yo'nena yuddhaṁ neyeṣa dāso'yamiti saṁyuge.
1. śiśupālaḥ uvāca sa me bahumataḥ rājā jarāsaṃdhaḥ mahābalaḥ
yaḥ anena yuddham na īyeṣa dāsaḥ ayam iti saṃyuge
1. Shishupala said: 'That very powerful King Jarasandha, whom I highly esteemed, did not wish to fight this one (Krishna) in battle, considering, "This one is merely a servant."'
