यदा निरर्थकं वेत्ति तदा सद्यः प्रणश्यति ॥१०॥

Sorrow (śoka) arises from affection (prīti) due to the separation from that embodied being (dehin). When one understands it to be meaningless, then sorrow immediately vanishes.
