अग्निरुवाच ।
नैतदेवं यथा यूयं मन्यध्वमसुरार्दनाः ।
गरुडो बलवानेष मम तुल्यः स्वतेजसा ॥८॥

naitadevaṁ yathā yūyaṁ manyadhvamasurārdanāḥ ,
garuḍo balavāneṣa mama tulyaḥ svatejasā.

8. Agni said, "It is not as you, O destroyers of Asuras, imagine. This powerful Garuḍa is indeed equal to me in his own brilliance."
