महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-20, verse-14

खगेश्वरं शरणमुपस्थिता वयं महौजसं वितिमिरमभ्रगोचरम् ।
महाबलं गरुडमुपेत्य खेचरं परावरं वरदमजय्यविक्रमम् ॥१४॥
14. khageśvaraṁ śaraṇamupasthitā vayaṁ; mahaujasaṁ vitimiramabhragocaram ,
mahābalaṁ garuḍamupetya khecaraṁ; parāvaraṁ varadamajayyavikramam.

mahā-ojasam vi-timiram abhra-gocaram
mahā-balam garuḍam upetya khe-caram
para-avaram varadam a-jayya-vikramam
14. We have come to seek refuge in Garuda, the lord of birds, who is immensely powerful, dispelling darkness, dwelling in the clouds, supremely strong, moving through the sky, encompassing all, both superior and inferior, the bestower of boons, and possessing unconquerable might.
