Just as the world (jagat) in a dream (svapne), though shining forth with diverse forms, is ultimately void (śūnyam), similarly, in the waking state (jāgrati), this entire (akhilam) world is nothing but the luminous space (vyoma) whose intrinsic nature (ātman) is consciousness (cit).
