Oh, how astonishing that the self (ātman) itself, which is other than pots and similar objects (ghaṭādyanyat), is thus established! Within, the intrinsic nature (svasvabhāva) of living beings (jīva) and so on is indeed as if forgetful, as if in a state of self-oblivion.
