वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-4, chapter-50, verse-12

स तु वर्षसहस्राणि तपस्तप्त्वा महावने ।
पितामहाद्वरं लेभे सर्वमौशसनं धनम् ॥१२॥
12. sa tu varṣasahasrāṇi tapastaptvā mahāvane ,
pitāmahādvaraṃ lebhe sarvamauśasanaṃ dhanam.
12. sa tu varṣa sahasrāṇi tapaḥ taptvā mahāvane |
pitāmahāt varam lebhe sarvam auśasanam dhanam
12. tu saḥ mahāvane varṣasahasrāṇi tapaḥ taptvā
pitāmahāt auśasanaṃ sarvaṃ dhanaṃ varaṃ lebhe
12. But he, having performed severe asceticism (tapas) for thousands of years in a great forest, received a boon from Pitāmaha (Brahmā): all the wealth of Uśanas (Śukrācārya).
