वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-61, verse-1

तप्यमानं तथा रामं सीताहरणकर्शितम् ।
लोकानामभवे युक्तं साम्वर्तकमिवानलम् ॥१॥
1. tapyamānaṃ tathā rāmaṃ sītāharaṇakarśitam ,
lokānāmabhave yuktaṃ sāmvartakamivānalam.

1. Rāma, thus tormented and wasted away by the abduction of Sītā, was ready for the destruction of the worlds, like the world-ending (Saṃvartaka) fire.
