अथाह व्ययभावस्य कथयामि फलं द्विज ।
व्ययेशे शुभसंयुक्ते स्वभे स्वोच्चगतेऽपि वा ॥१॥

Now, O twice-born (dvija), I shall tell you the results concerning the house of expenditure (12th house). This is when the lord of expenditure (12th house) is associated with auspicious planets, or is in its own sign, or is even in its sign of exaltation.
