मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-93, verse-8

ब्रह्मोवाच ।
प्रजापतिस्त्वं भविता स्रष्टव्या भवता प्रजाः ।
सृष्ट्वा प्रजाः सुतान्विप्र समुत्पाद्य क्रियास्तथा ॥८॥
8. brahmovāca .
prajāpatistvaṃ bhavitā sraṣṭavyā bhavatā prajāḥ .
sṛṣṭvā prajāḥ sutānvipra samutpādya kriyāstathā.
8. brahmā uvāca prajāpatiḥ tvam bhavitā sraṣṭavyā bhavatā
prajāḥ sṛṣṭvā prajāḥ sutān vipra samutpādya kriyāḥ tathā
8. Brahmā said: 'You will be a lord of creatures (prajāpati). Progeny must be created by you. O wise one (vipra), having created progeny and produced sons, and having performed the prescribed rites...'
