मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-93, verse-5

ततो वर्षशतं दिव्यं तपस्तेपे स वेधसम् ।
दिदृक्षुः सुचिरं कालं परं नियममास्थितः ॥५॥
5. tato varṣaśataṃ divyaṃ tapastepe sa vedhasam .
didṛkṣuḥ suciraṃ kālaṃ paraṃ niyamamāsthitaḥ.
5. tataḥ varṣaśatam divyam tapaḥ tepe sa vedhasam
didṛkṣuḥ suciram kālam param niyamam āsthitaḥ
5. Thereafter, for a hundred divine years, he performed asceticism (tapas), eager to behold Brahmā, having undertaken a supreme discipline (niyama) for a very long time.
