पितॄणां कथ्यते चैतत्तथा गणचतुष्टयम् ।
एकत्रिंशत्पितृगणा यैर्व्याप्तमखिलं जगत् ॥४८॥

48. pitṝṇāṃ kathyate caitattathā gaṇacatuṣṭayam .
ekatriṃśatpitṛgaṇā yairvyāptamakhilaṃ jagat.

And these four groups are spoken of in relation to the ancestors (pitṛ). There are thirty-one groups of ancestors (pitṛ) by whom the entire world is pervaded.
