narendramukhya bhārata adya yadi vai dṛśyate,
(tadā) aham saṅkhye sūtaputreṇa sametya,

O chief of kings (narendramukhya), O Bhārata, if indeed he is seen today in this conflict, I will fight fiercely with the son of Sūta (Karṇa), having met him in battle, just as the wielder of the thunderbolt (Indra) fought with Vṛtra.
