महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-47, verse-10

महाझषस्येव मुखं प्रपन्नाः प्रभद्रकाः कर्णमभि द्रवन्ति ।
मृत्योरास्यं व्यात्तमिवान्वपद्यन्प्रभद्रकाः कर्णमासाद्य राजन् ॥१०॥
10. mahājhaṣasyeva mukhaṁ prapannāḥ; prabhadrakāḥ karṇamabhi dravanti ,
mṛtyorāsyaṁ vyāttamivānvapadya;nprabhadrakāḥ karṇamāsādya rājan.
10. mahājhaṣasya iva mukham prapannāḥ
prabhadrakāḥ karṇam abhi dravanti
mṛtyoḥ āsyam vyāttam iva anvapadyan
prabhadrakāḥ karṇam āsādya rājan
10. rājan prabhadrakāḥ karṇam āsādya mahājhaṣasya mukham iva,
vyāttam mṛtyoḥ āsyam iva (karṇam) abhi dravanti (ca) anvapadyan
10. O King, the excellent warriors (prabhadrakāḥ), having reached Karṇa, rush towards him as if they have entered the mouth of a great fish, or fallen into Death's wide-open maw.
